Legend has it that Floripes, an enchanted Moorish, rambles every night by the town of Olhão, seducing men looking for the one that will release her of her spell. The man who desire her will have to cross the sea and carry a lighted candle. If it goes out, he will die.
Floripes represents the imagery of this fishing community and evoking her is the excuse to confront us with our greatest fear - death.
