Nothing I have of my own - Travel Journal to the Far East

The Portuguese director Miguel Gonçalves Mendes and the Brazilian writers Tatiana Salem Levy and João Paulo Cuenca travelled to the Far East for an exchange of experiences with artists and thinkers from Macau, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand. From that contact was born “Nothing I have of my own”, a travel journal to the Far East (with included DVD from the series). Described by its authors as "a blend of a travel book and fiction", inspired by travel reports from the XIX century, «Nothing I have of my own» is primarily a text under construction, a kind of visual poem, a book/movie in the form of alleged documentary, that explores the boundaries between reality and fiction.

«Nothing I have of my own it is assumed as a true multimedia art object: not just watch, you need to read; not just read, you have to imagine. Then fill in the blanks of a pulverized report, in which reality is systematically transformed on fiction»
